Everyone's favourite topic in Singapore has to be about where to buy a property and hence which primary schools are close to that property. In this article, we are going to look at the Primary Schools nearby to Altura EC Bukit Batok West Ave 8 by Qingjian Realty and Santarli Construction. This new Bukit Batok EC (at District 23) will be launched in 2023 and it promises to be a new exciting executive condominium that will meet the needs of the pent up demand for ECs in Singapore (and no ABSD to worry about too). Altura EC is situated at Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, close to the heart of Bukit Batok nature park and Bukit Batok Town Park and Little Guilin. 

What are the rules for Primary School Admission

When a school opens for Primary School admission, there will be various phase. But the common thing among all the phases if that if the number of interested children are more than the spaces available for that phase, there will be balloting. 

And as the balloting flow shows, Singaporeans gets priority over Permanent Residents first in any vacancies in a preferred Primary School. And they are in this order, if your chosen primary school has more registrants than vacancies....

  1. Singapore Citizens (SC) living within 1km of the school
  2. SCs living between 1km and 2km of the school
  3. SCs living outside 2km of the school.
  4. Permanent Residents (PR) living within 1km of the school
  5. PRs living between 1km and 2km of the school
  6. PRs living outside 2km of the school

Hence it is pretty important to stay 1 km within the Primary Schools you are interested in. Many parents go out of their way to make sure they get to stay 1 km of good schools. Having said that, you might be glad to know that Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) or ACS(P), will be moving from Bukit Timah to Tengah in 2030. And Altura EC is located within 1 km from ACS(P) School in Tengah.

As a start, we will use the official OneMap application by Singapore Government. From there, we will choose SchoolQuery.

Now, as the beautiful Altura EC located at Bukit Batok is not yet available on this map, we will choose the closest location. That will be West Hill @ Bukit Batok. Take note that as this is the closest we can choose for now so things might change a little once the official OneMap has Altura EC at Bukit Batok West Avenue 8. For now, let's take it with a little caution but it is relatively good one. 

Running the app, we can see that the Altura EC is conveniently located within the 1-2 km of the following Primary Schools. Some of these Primary Schools are just minutes walk from Altura EC located at Bukit Batok West.

Again I must stress that as the OneMap has not yet has our EC at Bukit Batok West yet, this is a rough approximation to the results. You can also see that the Bukit Gombak MRT station is also close to Dazhong Primary School.

Secondary Schools near Altura EC

You can also use the same app to find out the Secondary Schools located near to Altura EC. Of course, distance is no longer a criteria for entering these schools. So I am just going to list 4 of them that are closest but do note that there are many more within easy bus or MRT distance. Altura executive condo will be a good location for residents of Altura EC and their school going children as there are many good primary and secondary schools in the area.
